THE BAND

Merchants of Panic's vibrant brand of alt rock/pop punk can vary in mood from elated to manic to reflective but their high energy sound is always infectious (in a good way) and likely to have you dancing!

It all started on 28 Jan 2018 when Tomo put out a shout on the local FB page in Helensburgh:

"Hi all, keen to see if anyone in town would be up for starting a band. Could be anything from cover band to originals to anything at all..."

The post lead to a meeting over coffee. Discussions of musical styles, influences and preferences of playing covers vs originals were had.

A common(ish) ground was found and the lads had their first jam session in Tomo's living room.

So after some more discussions, the lads came to the realisation that despite the fact that an originals band would have to work harder to find gigs, invest more time to come up with material and will face more struggles to agree on their direction / sound, it would be a hell of a lot more fun than playing covers!

Merchants of Panic were born and jumped straight into writing music.
